Losing a pet is a distressing experience for any pet owner, and traditional methods to find lost dogs—like flyers, word-of-mouth, and neighborhood searches—are often inefficient and have low success rates. Recognizing the need for a modern, accessible solution, we designed Yep Scan, a mobile app that uses innovative nose-scanning technology to identify and locate lost dogs. The app provides pet owners with a reliable, tech-driven tool to track, report, and recover missing dogs, with added community support to enhance the search process.

Wireframes
The wireframing phase focused on creating a layout that balanced functionality and user experience. Key areas like the “Create Your Dog Profile,” “Lost Dog Reporting,” and community support sections were strategically placed to ensure ease of navigation. The wireframes helped visualize the process flow, ensuring that users could navigate through reporting, tracking, and community engagement features with minimal friction.
UI Design
For the UI design, we crafted a friendly and calming aesthetic, aiming to create a reassuring experience for users during stressful situations. The color palette and typography were chosen to reflect a sense of warmth and reliability. High-visibility buttons and a clean layout allowed users to navigate quickly, especially when time is critical.
